Gohar and
Farag remain squash’s top two players in November Rankings
Gohar, who has already captured the U.S. Open and the South Western
Women’s Open titles this season, is now enjoying her 48th week at
the game’s summit.
The 25-year-old, who has been recuperating after reaching finals in
all three of the events she has entered so far this season, will
travel to Hong Kong for her next tournament, the Platinum-level
Everbright Securities International Hong Kong Squash Open, which is
returning for the first time since 2018.
Elsewhere, the rest of the women’s top 20 remains unchanged, with
reigning World Champion Nour El Sherbini, Hania El Hammamy, Amanda
Sobhy and Joelle King completing the top five.
Outside of the top 20, South Africa’s Alexandra Fuller has risen to
her highest ever ranking of World No.22, Egypt’s Salma Eltayeb
climbed from World No.74 to World No.67 and Scotland’s Alison
Thompson returned to the top 100 as she moved from World No.103 to
World No.99.
The USA’s Emma Trauber made the most progress in the women’s
rankings, with the 17-year-old jumping from World No.442 to World
No.295 after reaching the semi-finals of the Challenger 5K Greenwich
Open last week.

In the men’s PSA World Rankings, Farag leads a similarly unchanged
top 20. The 30-year-old, who briefly relinquished the World No.1
spot to New Zealand’s Paul Coll earlier this month, has enjoyed a
solid start to his season, with a win at the Platinum-level CIB
Egyptian Open and a runner-up spot in the Platinum-level U.S. Open
final following an injury retirement.
Coll remains second in the rankings, followed by Mostafa Asal,
Mohamed ElShorbagy and Diego Elias.
After reaching the final of the City Tattersalls Club Australian
Open last week, Scotland’s Greg Lobban moved from World No.29 to
No.25, while Hungary’s Balazs Farkas is up two places to his highest
ever ranking of World No.53.
Egypt’s Marwan Tarek made the most progress on the men’s tour, with
the 22-year-old rocketing 493 places up the rankings from World
No.838 to World No.345 after winning the Greenwich Open despite
being unseeded.
