THE LONG GOOD FRIDAY
The Final Fixture:
Nottingham v Exeter Imperials
1. Stewart Boswell v Ong Beng Hee
2. Simon Parke v David Evans
3. Renan Lavigne v Alex Gough
Exeter Imperials travel to the bottom team in the Super
League tomorrow (Friday 29th March) knowing that a win will give them the
title ahead of Halifax Home insurance; but wouldn't have expected their
opponents to be fielding the strongest team they have mustered all season.
Ranged against the Devon outfit are expected to be Australian world number
five Stewart Boswell, England international Simon Parke and French star
Renan Lavigne.
Only a win will prevent the title from going to Halifax, neither team
having held it before. Hoping to do the job for Exeter will be Malaysian
world number seven Ong Beng Hee and Welsh duo David Evans and Alex Gough.
Evans is unbeaten in six League outings, including a victory over expected
opponent Parke in the reverse fixture. Ong meanwhile will have to avenge
his defeat by Boswell in the first half.
Exeter are seven points behind Halifax and need a 2/1 or 3/0 win to edge
ahead. A win for Nottingham would move them up to fourth place in the
final table, consigning Lindon Homes Winchester to the bottom slot.
