Paderborner In Bid To Extend Bundesliga Record In Stuttgart
German
club Paderborner SC will be bidding for a record tenth title in
the fotobuch.de Squash Bundesliga, the finals of which will take
place in Boeblingen, near Stuttgart, on 9th and 10th May.
The
defending champions - led by England's world No3 James Willstrop
and national hero Simon Rosner, the new world No12 - will face
hosts and former champions Sport-Insel Stuttgart in the
semi-finals.
2011
champions Black & White Worms will line up against Squash Inn
Hamborn, 2011 runners-up, in the other semi-final.
Launched in 1980, the fotobuch.de Squash Bundesliga has attracted the
world's top players, competing alongside the country's best.
French
number one Gregory Gaultier, ranked four in the world, leads
hosts Sport-Insel Stuttgart, while two-time world champion Nick
Matthew, the world No2 from England, will head the Black & White
Worms attack.
An
Englishman will also spearhead the Squash Inn Hamborn attack - world
No15 Tom Richards.
Paderborn born and raised Simon Rosner is making his seventh
appearance in the finals since 2006 - and has featured in five
successful Paderborner campaigns. The 25-year-old won his seventh
successive German National Championship title in February and this month
celebrated a career-high world No12 ranking.
"As
there will be a number top international stars joining the best German
players, the organisers have decided to stream the finals to the
international audience via Squash TV," said tournament promoter
Peter Schmidl.
