Brian Hargrave's nightmare scenario comes true ...
At 1.45am this morning I felt brain dead and hence i got the Guildford table results wrong
should have been matches for 21 against 24 games for 86 against 85 points 29 not 30 being 28 plus 8 win bonus points. Guilford probably thought that they had been awarded an extra bonus point - sorry !
I hope my summary made some sense, covering results on the night and looking forward.
When i finally got to bed, I had a dream that in round 10 Broxbourne beat Lexden 3-2, Guildford beat Chichester 5-0 and that UKP beat Lee on Solent 3-2.This gave Broxbourne 47 points, Lexden, UKP and Guildford all with 36 points having all won and lost 5 ties. In the dream the final tables looked like this;
Lexden 10 9 101 96
UKP 11 11 101 96
Guildford 15 11 101 96
I consulted my adviser, captain Tim G, who thought that it then depended on total individual points won, hence two games to 14 against Meadsy last
night. I got the rule book out and as per regulation 39 (i) and spotted that it comes down to a count back on points won throughout the season but
the calculation is the greater positive difference between total points won and lost. Just as i got to the crucial total i woke up.
I wonder what odds Andy's reluctant bookmaker Stan James would give for this outcome. I hope Andy was not trying to place a bet on Broxbourne winning the National Squash League. --->>>
Finally, i should have mentioned that in this dream, Andy Booth won the lottery whilst on his wining streak and Sainsbury's offered to sponsor the
National Squash League ... --->>>
