Now, girls, I've got all the details, as Big John rang to tell us a bit more. Well, Max was the first born, at 5lb 12oz, and Sam came a bit later, at 5lb 6oz.

The delivery wasn't that easy, and Suzy "has been hit by a bus", confessed John. "It was touch and go for two to three hours. She is still very weak, but she is now OK. She is going to stay in hospital for another 4 to 5 days."

"The babies are being fed normally, and are doing fantastically well, considering what they've just been through."

I have got the strange feeling that squash may not be on John's priority list for a few weeks, but then again, you DO KNOW my talent for prediction, don't you...

AT LAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to say that I did get a bit worried... The last message I got from John, "moments away"... was at 7.45pm last night. And then nothing....

And you can't help yourself being worried.

But no, thank to the Gods of Squash and whoever was up there in duty last night, this morning, at 7.38am, I could exhale: Sam and Max White "were born last night, and are as cute as their daddy". Bless him....

Félicitations, Mr and Mrs White! From the bottom of my heart, and everybody here at Squash Player (well, meaning Steve Cubbins and I really, doesn't it....), CONGRATULATIONS....

and good luck for August and all the many challenges that face Big John....

You may not know that my favourite man on the circuit (apart from Thierry of course), Mr John White is about to have twins.

Well, Suzy, Mrs White, more precisely.

My spies have now informed me that the boys are "nearly in this big world", as John told me from the hospital.

Sam and Max are the names chosen by the couple, although I was told that the Tall Man had initially the intention of naming them "Tom & Jerry". And Suzy refused??? I wonder why...

Joke apart, John White (with whom I had the pleasure to have a long talk recently) must be over the moon. Not sure that Suzy is right now, though....

In a few hours, Mrs White will have the large family she always wanted: Kyra, Tyler, Sam, Max... and John....
