Gutersloher to final victories.
The star-studded Capitol St Cloud team, featuring England internationals
Simon Parke, Paul Johnson, Peter Marshall and Mark Chaloner - ranked 4, 6,
9 and 15, respectively, in the world - beat Swedish club Malmo 3-1 in the
men's final. In her sixth year for the club, Sussex's world No4 Linda
Charman steered
Gutersloher to a successful defence of the women's title with a 3-0 final
victory over Belgian club Indoor Sportcenter.

Euro Clubs descend on MeerSquash
Starting on Thursday 21st September, 16
club teams who have won their National titles are descending on the
MeerSquash club in the town of Hoofdorp, 30 miles from Amsterdam,
attempting to claim the European Club Championship title.
16 Men's teams and 15 women's will compete
in pool stages before progressing to the play-off finals.
Favourites for the men's title are Capitol
St Cloud, the Paris based club who are able to select their four man team from Jonathon
Power, Simon Parke, Paul Johnson, Peter Marshall, Mark Chaloner and Alex Gough
- some team! Reigning champions are Linkoping from Sweden.
Women's champions and favourites are Gütershloher
Squash Club from Germany, led by world number four Linda Charman.
The host country is expected to mount a
strong challenge in both events, with MeerSquash representing the
Netherlands in both events, and a strong Squash Zwolle team providing a second Dutch
chance in the men's.
Pool matches take place on Friday and
Saturday, with the play-offs starting on Saturday and concluding on Sunday
24th.
