WISPA Dallas Open 2000, 4~7 May, $17k

Final:
England's world No1 Cassie Campion celebrated her first WISPA World Tour title of the new millennium when she stormed to a 9-3 4-9 9-2 9-2 victory over great rival Leilani Joyce, the world No2 from New Zealand, in the 49-minute final.

It was a dazzling display from the world's top two women players in the
climax of the debut Dallas Open. The 27-year-old world champion from Norfolk registered her second win over the New Zealander in a month - after losing to Joyce, 26, from Hamilton, in last December's British Open final in Scotland.

The pair are seeded to meet again in the USA in a week's time - in the final of the Bright Lights Las Vegas Open on Sunday 14th May.

Semi-Finals:
Cassie Campion and Leilani Joyce will meet in the expected final, but both had to work hard to assure their final places.

Campion lost a tight first game to Linda Charman, 10-9, but reasserted herself to take the next three, 9-3 9-6 9-1. Leilani also lost the first game - 0-9 to Natalie Grainger. She also took the next three, 9-6 9-2 and 10-8. The final will be their second meeting since Leilani took the British Open in December - Cassie gaining revenge for that defeat with a 3-2 win in the Grand Prix Finals last month.

Quarter-Finals:
England's world No1 and world champion Cassie Campion beat compatriot Stephanie Brind 9-5 9-7 9-4 to become the only player to survive the quarter-finals without conceding a game.

The Yorkshire-based 27-year-old from Norfolk, the top seed, now faces England team-mate Linda Charman, her third successive British opponent, in the semi-finals.  Charman, the 3rd seed from Sussex, overcame stiff resistance from Germany's world No8 Sabine Schoene before winning 9-2 8-10 10-8 9-7.

New Zealand's British Open champion Leilani Joyce stands in the way of an all-English final. The 26-year-old second seed from Hamilton defeated Australia's Rachael Grinham 9-7 9-2 3-9 9-3 and now faces England's world No5 Natalie Grainger after the Nottingham-based 22-year-old's 9-5 9-3 1-9 9-5 quarter-final victory over compatriot Jenny Tranfield.
